OLT GPON
The FiberTechnic® FD16XX GPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal) is the main unit of fiber optic PON network. PON (Passive Optical Network) is a single-fiber bidirectional optical access network with a point to multipoint (P2MP) structure with a typical tree-type topology. The system consists of OLT (Optical Line Terminal), ONU (Optical Network Unit), and ODN (Optical Distribution Network) which provides a transmission channel.
FiberTechnic® FD16XX OLT GPON device meets the ITU G.984/G.988 standard and provides downstream 2.5 Gbps and upstream 1.25 Gbps. In downlink direction (OLT to ONU), the signal sent by the OLT reaches each ONU through the ODN. While, in uplink direction (from ONU to OLT), the signal sent by the ONU reaches only the OLT, not other ONUs. To avoid data conflict and improve network efficiency, the uplink direction adopts TDMA mode and manages the data transmission of each ONU. ODN provides an optical channel between OLT and ONU.
Fibertechnic’s FD16XX GPON OLT has several versions in which the system supports up to 2048 GPON ONU terminals. The devices offer the possibility of connecting a 2x10Gb UPLINK, which increases the efficiency and competitiveness of the operator’s network. The OLT terminals have two types of power supply, AC 230V and DC 48V.

Optical terminals, or ONU terminals
FTECH ONU (Optical Network Unit) devices are terminal equipment of the PON network. The purpose of the device is to receive data from the OLT and convert the optical signal to electrical one and send service to the subscriber’s network. The ONU can have access to various user terminals, such as IPTV set-top box, wireless router, CCTV, etc. Depending on the type of end network, ONUs with up to 4 gigabit LAN ports can be used. Ftech G-01, G-04 and GW-04-DF terminals operate in XPON, precisely EPON and GPON technology and are compatible with OLTs of other manufacturers.

The largest advantage of this model is that it meets the 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standard – WiFi with transfer up to 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps for 5 GHz. Thanks to WPA and WPA2 encryption the terminal provides more efficient data transmission security. Ftech’s GW-04-DF terminals operate on XPON or EPON and GPON technology and are compatible with OLT units from other manufacturers.
